4 week Glass Fusion Course

If you've tried our shorter glass fusion courses and loved it, then this is the course for you! And even if you haven't then this four week course is a great introduction to the art of glass fusing. Working from beginner to intermediate level you will learn how to cut lines and curves into sheet glass. You will get the opportunity to work with glass in many forms including glass paint, crushed glass (frit), dichroic and iridised glass.

At the end of the couse you will have made 8 pieces to take away.

Week One: Cutting Glass - learn how to cut glass and practice simple cutting skills you will cut squares, strips and triangles out of clear and coloured glass and make a coaster and a geometric design sun-catcher.

Week Two: Paint, Frit and Dichroic - building on the skills learnt in Week One you will create a forest scene using sheet glass and introducing glass paint and frit to build your picture. You will also use the glass paint and dichroic glass to produce your own unique glass pieces to use in Week Three projects.

Week Three: Furthering cutting skills - You will learn to cut curves to enable you to produce two colourful birds to hang in the garden or window. Using some of the glass made in Week Two you will make two pendants or a pendant and earrings.

Week Four: Iridised Glass: Slumping. We will discuss the process of glass slumping and combining all the skills learn you will cut and produce a piece of glass to be slumped into a dish or lamp bender.

Candlemaking

Glass Fusion

Learn all about glass fusion and create your own beautiful piece of glass art in the process.

Glass Fusion Birds and Fish

Gold Leaf Calligraphy

A day to learn the art of illumination using gilding techniques and real
gold leaf. Create two initial letters of your choice and enhance it with vibrant
colours or calligraphy.


Gold leaf, glue, brushes and paper are all provided. There will be lots of
extras available to buy on the day.

Light refreshments are included, but don’t forget to bring your own lunch as
there will be a 1/2 hour break to relax a little.

Making Mosaics

Come and learn all about making mosaics - the tools to use, the products to buy and the different kinds of mosaics you can do. Then have a go at making your own!

You will have time to make either a set of coasters or one large piece.

The session is divided into three parts - design and making your mosiac, a small lunch break while everything dries and a grouting session.

Mindful Monday Crafting

Modern Calligraphy

Try your hand at this increasingly popular style of Modern Calligraphy. Ideal for all those personal touches to your hand crafted cards and gifts, or generate your own unique design.

In this morning session you will learn the basics of the Modern Calligraphy script.

Modern Calligraphy - Full Day

On the full day Modern Calligraphy course you will learn the basics of the script in the morning and in the afternoon you can put your new skills to work by creating a card or picture. Fabulous for special occasions and wedding ideas. You can also learn how to use gorgeous metallic inks to make your work look AM-AZE-ING!

Willow Weaving

Learn how to make a willow sculpture. No experience is necessary.

You can pick your own subject matter, although a smaller sculpture is recommended for your first go.

Ducks, herons and chickens have all been achieved and for the more experienced hares, cats even small dogs or
sheep. You will be shown all the processes and techniques of sculpting from willow and give you all the help and tuition needed to take away a finished willow sculpture.
